Megan Belanger

Megan Belanger, LMT, CLT, BCTMB
Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist

Megan Belanger’s fascination for the physiology of the human body propelled her into the massage profession, and she has never looked back. She is passionate about educating people about how gentle massage can facilitate positive change in the body, about lymphedema treatment options and risk reduction practices, and about society’s innate need for therapeutic touch. She views her work as an integration of science, art, communication, and heart, and she is proud to provide her specialized services to help with pain, swelling, discomfort, illness, and stress.

Megan’s touch is gentle yet highly effective. She works to calm the nervous system and interrupt the stress cycle, to facilitate increased body awareness and movement, and to offer tailored safe, specialized, comfort-oriented care for her clients. She fosters a partnership with every client, and integrates their unique needs into each individualized session to promote feelings of overall restoration and well-being.

She is a member of the Society for Oncology Massage and the Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN), and is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, providing Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) for clients in the maintenance stage of lymphedema. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hofstra University and graduated from the Cortiva Institute. She has taken additional coursework in oncology massage, lymphedema therapy, elastic taping for lymphedema, traumatic scar tissue management, breast cancer rehabilitation, post-mastectomy scar tissue mobilization, neurolymphatic therapy, and transgender care for medical and non-medical transition. She is also licensed in The Perrin Technique.

Megan is the founder of Touch of Kindness, a pay-it-forward fund that helps provide oncology massage and lymphedema treatment for people with cancer, cancer histories, lymphedema, and lipedema and for those in the transgender community. She has worked as a teaching assistant for Tracy Walton & Associates, helping to train oncology massage therapists in the Boston area. She currently offers mentoring in oncology massage and manual lymphatic drainage. Megan also speaks regularly at cancer support groups about massage, lymphedema therapy, and scar rehabilitation, and is the creator of the educational comic strip “Under Your Skin.” She is the illustrator of “Understanding Lymphedema: Keeping the Train on Track,” written by Dr. Dhruv Singhal and sponsored by LE&RN.
