Tessa fell in love with the healing arts early and sought out classes in the field as a teenager, beginning with an adult-education night class in Reiki I that she begged into with a letter. This class quickly blossomed into Reiki II and III classes, and soon a fulfilling and heart-centered path began to reveal itself.
Tessa received her massage certificate from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in 2009. She further deepened her knowledge of bodywork with coursework in myofascial massage, orthopedic massage, neuromuscular therapy, pregnancy massage, and craniosacral therapy. She received her certification in manual lymph drainage (MLD) from Klose Training, LLC in September 2024.
She completed the Boston School of Yoga’s 200-Hour Teacher Training in 2019 and loves to meld yoga and bodywork to help her clients feel more at home in their bodies. Tessa has a Bachelor of Science from Bay Path University and considers herself a life-long learner with a passion for the natural sciences and health.
Previous to finding her way to One River, Tessa practiced for 9 years in a clinical setting in collaboration with physical therapists to help people recovering from injuries and surgeries, as well as those managing chronic diseases. During this time, she worked largely with people recovering from spinal injuries and surgeries and people recovering from joint replacement surgeries. She was honored to assist them in finding more joy and ease in their bodies during the healing process. She still loves hearing their recovery story updates.
Tessa is thrilled to be joining the One River Massage Therapy team and to continue growing as a practitioner.
